Obsessed! Rag & Bone’s spring shoe collection just arrived. If there is one high fashion wedge shoe out there that is a must this spring it is the Rag and Bone Victoria gray suede wedge (above middle). They are beyond chic: the color, the contrast top-stitching detail, the wraparound ankle straps, the silver stud closure hardware, and the rubber gripped sole. Right now I plan on wearing them with tights, but in warmer weather they are going to be fantastic bare-legged with shorts, dresses, and skirts.
One of the biggest styling shifts we have seen for spring ‘10 is the continuation of the boot from fall/winter into spring/summer. This new spring/summer boot comes in quite an array of styles. Why have designers chosen to add boots to their spring repertoire? It is about time – their decision is based on the fact that we don’t have a consistent climate anymore. This past weekend it was 70 degrees and now it is overcast and chilly again. This happens throughout the whole spring/summer season. Our winter boots should be transitioning to our off season closets at this point and the solution to this weather roller coaster? Spring boots. Rag & Bone’s spring boots are so easy to wear for this season and can even will transition perfectly for next fall. Wearing spring boots is simple: pair them now with tights if you want to wear a dress, skirt, or shorts. Wear them easily with any type of jean and also great with the numerous jumpsuits that are out there for spring ‘10. The emergence of spring socks when tights are no longer necessary has been quite prevalent all over the spring runways and at firs seems very difficult to do with a spring boot (it might bring back nightmares of the scrunch sock days gone by) but fear not this time around they are so much chicer.
